Where’d July Go?

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who wanted to be a star. She wanted to travel the world and be adored by fans. She dreamed about being a famous dancer!

or maybe an Olympic gymnast. As she grew, she learned about all the different styles of singing and thought that she could be a famous singer. She learned about opera and fell in love with it.

She decided this is what she wanted to do. It was a hard road full of obstacles and challenges and changes and she never quite achieved the fame she dreamed of. But in the end, she was very successful and very happy.

I know. Not much of a story. But it is all true.

This month has been filled with success. How do I measure success? By the way I feel. Success is a student who makes a breakthrough with her breathing and opens up high notes; success is the look of joy on a student’s face when she hits high notes and hears her voice reverberating in the room; success is a group of students comforting a fellow classmate when she afraid just before a performance; success is knowing that I am doing work that matters. All of these things happened to me this month. I consider myself supremely blessed that I get to be a part of the changes in these students’ lives. And it will only get better from here.

Our summer session of 30-minute Musical was so fun. It was also super unpredictable. We had perfect weather the whole session except on the day of the performance when it rained.

But the girls did an incredible job. I look forward to the school year when I will be doing the class with The Homeschool Experience. I will definitely be doing it again next summer, so keep your eyes peeled for those announcements. And if you know of any homeschool students who need music classes, I am teaching 30-minute Muscal and a high school choir, so please send them my way. I would love to see those classes filled up.

Thank you to all of you who continue to support Peak Vocal Academy. We wouldn’t be where we are without you!

Keep Singing!
