October Newsletter

This has been a month of discovery and acknowledgement. It’s been really exciting to watch everyone grow. We’ve had some exciting moments…

and moments of disappointment.

But we have all accomplished hard things this month. And, across the board, the thing that we all came to terms with is that singing is HARD!

It might not seem like it, but singers are athletes in their own way. It’s not as obvious because the muscles required for singing are tiny and less obvious than those of a dancer or a runner or a bodybuilder. However, we put a lot of force on a lot of teeny, tiny muscles and the result is good singing.

This month, my sweet songbirds have learned that there is a lot more to singing than opening their mouths and hoping for the best. They have all been working so hard and doing things that not a lot of singers are doing. They have all discovered that not only can they do hard things, but they can do them well. And, they have all learned (much to their dismay) that singing isn’t always beautiful and doesn’t have to be. But they’ve done it anyway and I am so proud of them.

So, we will continue to do what we do: singing, learning, and growing.

Speaking of which…

30-minute Musical is returning on October 13. I am waiting on confirmation of our venue, but it is happening. You can register at our website, Peak Vocal Academy.

Happy Autumn, everyone! I can’t wait to see you at the theater.
