November 2023 Newsletter

It has been quite a month. We had an amazing run of Verdi’s La Traviata at the North Carolina Opera. As usual, it was super fun and wonderful and I was so sad when it was over.

But now, we are in the season of gratitude. I love this time of year. It truly is my favorite season. So, for this month, I wanted to share some things that I am grateful for:

I am grateful for my family. I love these people so much. I love their craziness and spontaneity; their love and support of me and each other; their creativity and affection.

I am grateful for my students. They have made an impact on my life and have taught me that I need to push forward. They are inspiring in their constant efforts to be their best.

I am grateful for singing. If you have known me for more than a few minutes, you know I have a big personality. I sing opera, and you have to have a big personality for that. Singing allows me to express my big feelings. I will sing anything and it has helped me move forward in my struggles.

Finally, I am grateful for my struggles. I know, it’s a weird thing to be thankful for. But, I am a firm believer that God allows me to struggle so that I can grow. Lately, there seem to be lots of struggles. I guess that means it’s time to grow.

Thank you, all of you, for continuing to support Peak Vocal Academy. I am grateful for all of you.
